As your Parent Support Specialist, I can assist in several ways, like finding resources, become parent volunteers and be leaders in our school.

Right to Know Teacher Qualifications
As a parent of student at Pecan Springs Elementary you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers and teacher assistants who instruct your child. Federal law allows you to ask for certain information about child's classroom teachers and requires us to give you this information in a timely manner if you ask for it. Specifically, you have the right to ask for the following information about each of your child's classroom teaching staff:
- Whether the Stat of Texas has licensed of qualified the teacher for the grades and subjects he or she teaches.
- Whether the State of Texas has decided that the teacher can teach in a classroom without being licensed or qualified under state regulations because of special circumstances.
- The teacher's college major; whether the teacher has any advanced degrees and, if so, the subject of the degrees.
- Whether any teachers' aides or similar paraprofessionals provide services to your child, and if they do, their qualifications.

Como padre de un estudiante de la escuela primaria Pecan Springs, usted tiene derecho a conocer las calificaciones profesionales de los maestros y asistentes de maestros que instruyen a su hijo. La ley federal le permite solicitar cierta información sobre los maestros del salón de clases de su hijo(a) y requiere que le proporcionemos dicha información en un tiempo razonable, si usted la solicita. Específicamente, usted tiene derecho de solicitar la siguiente informacion acerca del personal docente en el salón de clases de su hijo(a):
- Si el Estado de Texas ha otorgado una licencia o calificado a un maestro(a) para los grados y materias que imparte.
- Si el Estado de Texas ha decidido que el maestro(a) puede enseñar en un salón de clases sin tener licencia o estar calificado según las regulaciones estatales debido a circunstancias especiales.
- La especialidad universitaria del maestro(a); si el maestro(a) tiene estudios superiores, de ser asi, la materia de los titulos
- Si asistentes de maestro(a) o paraprofesionales similares proporcionan servicos a su hijo(a) y de ser asi, conocer sus credenciales profesionales

School Schedule
- 7:15 a.m. doors open
- 7:30 a.m. start of the school day
- 7:40 a.m. your scholar is TARDY/late
- 3:10 p.m. scholars are dismissed
Outside Traffic After 7:40 AM
Parents, in efforts to avoid outside traffic during school hours after 7:40 AM in the front half circle drive in we ask that cars use only the right lane and do not block the left lane as we have buses coming in and out that may need to pass through and avoid other vehicles blocking traffic. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Tuesday's and Thursday's
Parents are welcome to eat lunch with their scholar on TUESDAY'S & THURSDAY'S. When you arrive please check in at the Front Office with your ID, Driver's License, OR Passport. Thank you!
STAFF & STUDENT FALL FLU CLINIC, TUESDAY OCT. 4 (3:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
Pecan Springs Elementary will be hosting a Staff and Student Fall Flu Clinic on Tuesday, October 4, 3:30pm-5:30pm
All Austin ISD staff and students with insurance can receive a Flu shot at the Fall Flu Clinic.
Registration for the Fall Clinic is online, which can be done by clicking on the link here or scan the QR code on the attached flyer below.
Appointments will be taken from 3:30pm-5:30pm, walk-ins will be accepted whenever possible.

Flu Clinic Reminders:
- Please double check the reminder email you receive the day prior to our event for your exact arrival time for your appointment.
- (Some appointments may vary by a few minutes to aid in social distancing).
- Please bring your insurance card and photo ID
- Remember to wear a short sleeve shirt
- Please come at your allotted time to help with social distancing
- Please wear a mask or face covering for your entire visit.
- We will conduct a touchless-thermometer temperature check prior to vaccine administration
- You must have a temp of 100.4 or less at the time of service

At Pecan Springs this means we use the funds we raise and the resources we have to make sure every child will benefit. Membership is open to everyone and all you have to pay is the $10 fee. As a member you get to vote on how the money is raised and spend.
